A Day in the Life: Installing New Roofs Across Brooklyn’s Historic Neighborhoods

6:00 AM – Rise and Shine

The day begins early at KNA Roofing as we prepare for another busy day of protecting homes across Brooklyn’s diverse neighborhoods. After checking the weather forecast (clear skies, perfect for roofing), I load up our truck with materials and equipment.

7:30 AM – First Site Visit in Bay Ridge

Our first job takes us to a beautiful pre-war home in Bay Ridge. The homeowner needs a complete roof replacement, and we’re starting day two of the project. The morning air is crisp, making it ideal for handling heavy materials and navigating steep pitches.

10:00 AM – Problem Solving in Park Slope

After completing the morning’s tasks, we head to Park Slope for an emergency inspection. These brownstones require special attention due to their historic nature and specific architectural requirements.

Key Tasks Throughout the Day:

  • Material delivery coordination
  • Safety equipment checks
  • Client consultations
  • Quality control inspections

2:00 PM – Williamsburg Project

The afternoon takes us to a modern building in Williamsburg requiring specialized commercial roofing work. Working in this rapidly developing neighborhood reminds me how much Brooklyn has changed over the years.

4:30 PM – Wrapping Up

Before heading back to base, we ensure all job sites are clean and secure. Documentation is completed, and tomorrow’s schedule is confirmed. Working across Brooklyn’s diverse neighborhoods makes every day unique in the roofing industry.

5:30 PM – Planning for Tomorrow

The day ends with equipment maintenance and preparing estimates for upcoming projects in Bedford-Stuyvesant and Staten Island. Another satisfying day of helping maintain Brooklyn’s iconic skyline, one roof at a time.
