A Day in the Life: Keeping Omaha Cool with D & K Heating & Cooling

Rise and Shine: The Life of an HVAC Technician

As the sun peeks over the horizon, I’m already up and preparing for another busy day at D & K Heating & Cooling. My name’s Mike, and I’ve been with the company for five years now, serving the Omaha, La Vista, and Papillion areas. Here’s a glimpse into my typical day:

6:30 AM: Morning Prep

I start my day by checking the schedule and loading up my service van with the necessary tools and parts. Today’s lineup includes:

  • An AC repair in west Omaha
  • Air conditioning installation in La Vista
  • Routine AC service in Papillion

8:00 AM: First Call – AC Repair

My first stop is a home in west Omaha. The homeowner reports their unit isn’t cooling properly. After a thorough inspection, I discover a refrigerant leak. I explain the issue to the customer and, with their approval, proceed to repair the leak and recharge the system.

11:00 AM: New Installation

Next, I head to La Vista for an air conditioning installation. The homeowners are upgrading their old system to a more efficient model. This job takes a few hours, but seeing the customers’ excitement about their new, energy-efficient AC makes it all worthwhile.

3:00 PM: Routine Maintenance

My final stop of the day is in Papillion for a routine AC service. Regular maintenance is crucial for keeping air conditioners running smoothly and efficiently. I clean the coils, check refrigerant levels, and ensure all components are functioning correctly.

5:30 PM: Wrapping Up

As I finish my last call, I can’t help but feel satisfied knowing I’ve helped keep my community comfortable. Before heading home, I restock my van and prepare for tomorrow’s adventures in air conditioner repair and installation.

Working for D & K Heating & Cooling isn’t just a job; it’s a commitment to keeping our neighbors cool and comfortable. Whether it’s a scorching summer day or a mild spring afternoon, we’re always ready to help with any HVAC needs in the Omaha metro area.
